FACE Italia expresses its dissent on the question of the exceptions to the Commissioner for the Environment of the European Union: “Europe must apply the directives without discrimination between member countries”.
The Coordination of Hunting Associations belonging to FACE Italia wrote a firm note of dissent to the EU Commissioner for the Environment Janez Poto? Nik who, relying solely on a meeting with the Italian representatives of some environmental NGOs, without any acquisition of further positions, sent a letter to our Government communicating that the Commission will have to take a new position.
In the opinion of the hunting associations belonging to the Coordination of FACE Italy, Commissioner POTO? NIK has drawn conclusions that do not respond to a correct, serene and impartial application of the Directive as is the case, however, in the other EU states.
The same communication was also sent to Minister Clini asking both of them for an urgent meeting because such discriminatory behavior within the European Union is not admissible based only on instrumental interpretations and ignoring the jurisprudence of the Court of Justice.
We ask that the climate of juridical confusion artfully produced and nourished by the offices contrary a priori to legitimate opportunities granted, instead, in all European countries in respect of their traditions and needs, cease.
It is time for this to become normal also in Italy and, to this end, we ask that the competent institutions of our country - State and Regions - do their part fully by adopting the necessary acts, correcting the rules that must be correct, but above all that they make their voices heard in Europe by demonstrating that even in the field of wildlife - hunting our country expects respect and common rules, strongly defending our hunting traditions while in full compliance with the Community directives on the subject.
