The meeting of a Face Italia working group took place on March 31 in Milan to outline the suggestions for the Regions in compiling the next Venatori Calendars.
The meeting in question, held on Saturday 31.03. us in Milan and which lasted until late afternoon, allowed, in an atmosphere of effective and productive collaboration between all the participants (Emilano Amore and Alessandro Cannas - Libera Caccia; Avv. Giuseppe Evola - Enalcaccia; Michele Sorrenti - FIDC), to agree the legal and technical-scientific contents of the document to be sent to all Regions regarding hunting calendars for the next 2012-2013 season and to be presented to our respective Regional Managers at a meeting to be organized as soon as possible in Rome.
In particular, it was agreed to structure the document in two parts: a first part with the legal reasons and a second part with technical data sheets, especially by species, indicating the sampling periods and the main supporting scientific references. The document is currently in the final integration phase and as soon as it is ready it will be reproduced on FACE Italia paper and sent to the Regions with a specific accompanying letter.
During the same meeting it became clear that, as decided in the Coordination meeting on 02.03. us and as already anticipated with the letters sent to the competent institutions last week, it is necessary and urgent to proceed with the initiation of legal action pursuant to Law 241/90 against ISPRA which has not found our data request, entrusting the task to a professional expert on the subject and in confrontation with the State Attorney General.
Below is the press release of the Face Italia Coordination on the letter sent to the Prime Minister and the Ministers concerned:
ISPRA defaulting: the legal procedures provided for by law are underway.
The Coordination of FACE Italia writes to the Prime Minister and to the Ministries concerned
Rome, 02 April 2012 - The Coordination of the hunting associations belonging to FACE Italy, being involved in the Working Group at the MIPAAF where they discuss the conservation status of huntable species in Italy and the interpretation of data concerning the migration of avifauna, as well as in the Working Table within the Conference of the Regions for the examination of the issues concerning "Hunting calendars, Exemptions and damage from wildlife to agriculture", on 18 January 2012 addressed to the former INFS administrative headquarters in Ozzano Emilia ( BO) of ISPRA a request for access to data concerning the National Ringing Center pursuant to Law no. 241/1990.
Having not received a positive response to date and having to identify in this behavior an implicit desire of ISPRA itself to evade the request, the Coordination of FACE Italia is forced to proceed in the legal forms pursuant to Law no. 241/1990 against said Institute.
The seriousness of the conduct assumed by the former INFS administrative office in Ozzano Emilia (BO) of ISPRA and the need for an adequate and urgent intervention by the Ministry of the Environment, which is required to supervise its activities in accordance with current legislation.
Furthermore, the opportunity to bring the supervision of ISPRA back under the Presidency of the Council of Ministers with an act that should be included in the category of government actions aimed at simplifying and efficiency of the Public Administration was pointed out.
