Two days ago, Tuesday 1 March 2016, the European Parliament of Brussels hosted a heated and important discussion concerning the European Firearms Directive: the involvement of citizens, hunters and sport shooters has enriched the appointment and the synthesis of the meeting can be that of a general criticism of the proposed revision of the law by both politicians and ordinary people. What exactly did we talk about? The revision proposal was put forward five days after the terrible terrorist attacks of Paris and there was no lack of criticism from the beginning.
The doubts have also been expressed by the members of the European Parliament, although several points can be shared, such as for example improved firearm tracking and police cooperation. The panel was organized by FACE (Federation of Associations for Hunting and Conservation of the European Union) and he alternated important interventions regarding this topic. According to Karl-Heinz Florenz, president of the Parliamentary Intergroup that deals with Biodiversity, Hunting and Agriculture, explained how there is no connection between the legal possession of a civil weapon (hunting and sport) and the risk of new terrorist attacks.
Furthermore, according to Florenz, it is unacceptable that citizens are blocked by such laws and disproportionate and unnecessary restrictions that they do not allow to increase safety in any way. One of the most controversial points of the proposal was the ban on the use of firearms due to their excessive similarity to military ones, a measure that found no justification. With regard to the minimum age, custody, temporal validity and medical tests related to these weapons, the Members of Parliament have rejected the European Commission's proposal to recall the subsidiarity principle, according to which states can adopt laws tailored to national characteristics.
Vicky Ford, MEP, voiced concerns about the interests of sport shooters and hunters. Tomasz Husak instead he reiterated that it is the firm intention of the European Commission to improve the safety of citizens through close collaboration between the actors involved, in order to find common and effective solutions. Torbjörn Larsson recognized what it was like a real shock for hunters to be at the center of a discussion linked to terrorism and illegal arms trafficking: according to him, hunters are nature lovers and observe the laws correctly, consequently they cannot be harmed as is happening with the directive.
we hunters, range shooters and gun lovers are super controlled because when we buy a weapon both we and the armory have the obligation to dencia it to the police this also applies to the ammunition then forced us to keep them in cabinets armored and it also seems right and none of us since we care about our weapons in a particular way would never dream of getting rid of them so the weapons that go into the hands of criminals in general are the illicit trafficking that all states do with the approval of theirs governments that for the god of money would be willing to do anything so don't piss us off and run a hand over your conscience if you have one.
of course when it is not convenient for you to say that the comment has been duplicated what is wrong is not true or maybe it affects your interests well it means that I will abandon the face book and I will also recommend it to my friends goodbye and thanks
