Two different centuries
Raimondo, Vigilio, Alessandra Fait: sometimes, the shooting it's a family matter. A passion that involves different generations, a reason for living. The Fait family, originally from Rovereto, told their story to TGR Trentino: a journey spread over two different centuries with the young Alessandra, the latest exponent of a tradition with few equals (perhaps none) in the world.
The story on TGR
From Raimondo's first successes, which came in the mid-900s, to Alessandra's dream of participating in the Los Angeles 2028 Games, a shooter born in 2004 who will complete her transition to seniors over the next 12 months, to those like Vigilio Fait, who has taken part in the Olympics 4 times: from Atlanta 1996 to Beijing 2008, via Sydney 2000 and Athens 2004, with a 5th and 8th place in the pistol contests as the best results of an excellent career that saw him obtain silver in the 50m "free" at the 2006 World Championships in Zagreb and 10 medal placings in the World Cup (3 golds, 4 silvers, 3 bronzes). "In 2004 - said Vigilio Fait - I saw Alessandra being born and then I flew to Athens to participate in the Olympics. I have also lived the experiences that Alessandra is living, but being behind the scenes is a different feeling. Alessandra has character and the right determination to achieve the results she wants”.
Shooting techniques
“When I put my hand in the competition belt – explained Alessandra Fait showing the shooting technique – I start to visualize what I will then do in front of the target. From that moment on I am ready to shoot. I like this sport for how it “teaches” you every day to find discipline and maintain concentration”. “Los Angeles 2028? I don’t see it as a distant goal. I am quite confident that I can get there” (source: UITS).
