"Falcolandia - The falcons, cultural door of integration between peoples": the 2016 edition of this important event is scheduled in exactly one week, to be precise Friday 27 and Saturday 28 May in Rome. The event will take place at the headquarters of the Association "Volunteers Captain Last", non-profit organization located in the Torre Spaccata area. A decisive contribution to the organization was provided by theNational Union of Hunters and Falconers, a sectoral body of Federcaccia.
The two days will be characterized by the presence of many schools in the capital: students will get to know falconry better, an ancient hunting art that always arouses great interest, in addition to the world of birds of prey. The first day of "Falcolandia" will be dedicated to demonstrations by free flight of birds of prey and sheep dog. There will be laboratory activities and "The man and the hawk", that is, improvised verses by storytellers.
During the second and last day, however, there will be a falconry seminar from 10:30 to 13: Giancarlo Pirrotta, who is considered a real "monument" of Italian falconry, will tell the experiences of hunting with the falcon, while the following meeting-debate will have the title "Falconry of Today and Tomorrow: preserving, improving and spreading this ancient art, also in terms of ethics, regulations, changes to laws". Starlings, free flights, demonstrations and lessons will continue until the end of 19 with a fire show by the Circo Alchemico.
