The big comeback in February
Back to Spoleto from 3 to 5 February 2023 the great event dedicated to the environment now in its fifth edition. The program includes educational and excursion activities, guided tours to discover Umbrian wildlife, the screening of the documentary “Il Marsicano. The Last Bear” by Massimiliano Sbrolla granted for use by the Abruzzo National Park and Sky, “Big game hunting in Spoleto. Painted animals from the Rocca to Palazzo Mauri ", the particular treasure hunt by Marco Masseti, the literary aperitif introduction to naturalistic drawing by Angelo Speziale and readings of passages from "I Paesaggi dell'Umbria" and the conference " Fauna in the city: old and new relationships between men and animals” with scientific coordination and moderation by Mauro Magrini and Andrea Sforzi.
Past editions
The plastic free event "Fauna" was launched in 2019 with a conference on the figure of professor Bernardino Ragni, a zoologist from Spoleto who died in 2018 who spent his life studying and gaining knowledge of wildlife, and has continued over the years following with conferences and initiatives dedicated to the "European Wildcat", to the theme "The wolf in Italy" and "Golden Eagle", which allowed to deepen the knowledge of Italian wildlife. "The event is an appointment of great scientific value which has seen the participation and interest grow year after year not only in the city, but also at a national level - said Agnese Protasi, councilor for ecological and energy transition, circular economy , biodiversity and landscape – The numerous collateral initiatives organized with great care involve experts in the sector, enthusiasts, young and old, allowing more and more people to deepen their knowledge of Italian and local wildlife.
