The regional councilor of Molise with responsibility for hunting, Christian Di Pietro, has made official the favorable opinion of theHigher Institute for Environmental Protection and Research (ISPRA) to the wild boar selection hunting. For a few days already Di Pietro himself had announced this authorization and now it is possible to certify what is considered a historic and important result for Molise hunters.
The councilor also spoke of a "reward" for the work done to contain this problematic species. This individual hunt is a first response to surplus of ungulates and there will be training and qualification courses organized by the Territorial Hunting Areas. The ISPRA opinion underlined that the Molise plan is coherent with the objective of containing and reducing wild boars in the most critical areas.
As for the area adjacent to the National Park of Abruzzo, Lazio and Molise, Di Pietro anticipated the preparation of a protocol to be signed with the park authority to introduce containment and safeguard the brown bear. The communiqué of the councilor concludes with the hope of a further improvement in the hunting sector, "long abandoned in Molise".
