The provincial president of the Federcaccia of Sassari, Mario Azara, (present the president of the municipal section of Olbia Giovanni Serra and the provincial councilor Davide Bacciu) met in the Olbia offices of the Province of Sassari, the Commissioner Guido Sechi and the managers of the Environment sectors of SS and OT, Dr. Zara and Dr. Canu, and the officer Columbano. The President highlighted the urgent need to implement the monitoring on the hare and the partridge, which the Province is already carrying out in the self-managed areas, in order to extend them as soon as possible (by April) also to dedicated areas, free for hunting.
He expressly asked the Province to provide for the monitoring and consequent sampling plans to include the entire provincial territory. He also highlighted the ambiguity of the regional deliberations on the matter, which provided for appropriations to be allocated only for monitoring in said self-managed areas. Federcaccia stressed the need for take action as soon as possible in order to avoid the denied hypothesis that only hunters belonging to the self-managed areas can be placed in the conditions to hunt the noble sedentary, creating an abominable inequality of treatment among the hunters themselves and those who are not registered in these areas.
The Province said it was convinced that the monitoring activity put in place in the self-managed areas and also in the oases it will lead to obtaining the necessary data to prepare a sampling plan covering the entire regional territory. In any case, in order to verify if this corresponds to what is desired both by the Province and by the Federcaccia, in the next few hours will write a communication to the Region and to the University in order to be sure that the territory being monitored and the consequent results will be potentially sufficient for the preparation, according to law, of the withdrawal plan throughout the region. Federcaccia also asked for the establishment of the Provincial Fauna Committee as soon as possible. Also in this sense the Province has made a commitment.
