Over 30 competitors from all over the province of Salerno took part in the 5th Edition of the Vincenzo Cioffi Memorial organized by the Federcaccia Section of Pontecagnano in collaboration with the provincial FIdC, at the “Russo Prezioso” dog training camp in Battipaglia.
After the ritual practices and a short opening speech by the delegate of the event Gennaro Truono, we moved to the competition fields where the sedentary game (partridges) was introduced.
The race divided into two heats was evaluated by the federal judges Carlo Cascino for battery A and Carmine Malafronte for battery B who, thanks to their experience and professionalism, impeccably examined the competitors engaged with their auxiliaries on the difficult and demanding. land in the Battipagliese training area. At the end of the day of testing, the final classification was drawn up which saw the winner of the trophy Aldo Guariglia with his kurzhaar while in second place was Vincenzo Schettino accompanied by his English setter.
The day was characterized by fun and sporting competition in honor of the late friend Vincenzo Cioffi, fondly remembered by the provincial president Luigi Spera who also took the opportunity to talk about the current situation that hunting in Campania and in the province is experiencing. of Salerno. Very touching was the intervention of Vincenzo's daughter who thanked all the participants for having contributed to keeping the memory of her father alive.. Finally, the delegate Gennaro Truono, in addition to thanking the competitors and friends present, expressed a special thanks for the hospitality to the landlord Giovanni Ferrara manager of the field.
The success of the race, however, is mainly to be attributed to the organizer Giovanni Senatore, president of the FIdC section of Pontecagnano, who left nothing to chance, guaranteeing a precise and punctual service on the fields and excellent assistance to the jury, the delegate and all competitors.
