The courses organized by the Brescia provincial section of the Federcaccia to specialize in hunting ungulates. This is an interesting opportunity that takes its cue from the training courses developed by theISPRA (Higher Institute for Environmental Protection and Research). In detail, the Brescia branch of the association will host the lessons prepared to become experts in wild boar hunting, experts in hunting of selection of ungulates, hunters of ungulates who use selective methods specialized in the collection of deer, operators qualified for biometric surveys, without forgetting the basic reload course for rifles. The registrations will start in February and the participation fee will include the teaching material to study, the hours of frontal lessons with expert teachers and also the hour of practical lessons. But what will be studied specifically?
First of all, there is a general part. Participants will discover the origins and distribution of ungulates, with particular reference to the Apennine situation. The course will investigate the various local differences that exist with regard to parameters of size, weight and weight gain in the different sex and age groups. There will also be room for the biological parameters and cycles of the species we are talking about, as well as its maturity from a physiological and biological point of view.
You will also become an expert in the reproductive strategies that characterize wild boars and all the events that are connected to it. The aggressiveness of male and female specimens, their social hierarchy and the hierarchy in loves are other topics that will be part of the lessons to be held in Brescia. It will then continue with the birth rate of the ungulates, the births, the reproductive success, the annual increase and the parental investment. The living space, the movements and the seasonal neighborhoods (use of habitat) are fundamental details to get to know this species better.
The course will be completed by the types of damage and their prevention, the hunting management of wild boars, the classes that can be killed and how to recognize them, the weapons to be used for selective collection, the logistics of the collection, theethics of hunting, the collection of biometric parameters and the measurement of the trophy. The hour of practice will cover specific insights on criteria for evaluating the age of ungulates in relation to morphological characteristics, in addition to the recognition of the species, the determination of the sex and age classes, the growth cycle of wild boars, cleaning and falling, the systems and any anomalies. In a nutshell, an all-round picture of the species.
