Federcaccia Lombardia warns the Region from following the ISPRA opinions on hunting derogations in Storno and Fringuello and on the opening of the Roccoli.
Federcaccia Lombardia, availed of the professional assistance of the lawyer. Alberto Bruni of Florence, filed a warning to the Region on Tuesday 14 July to deviate from the ISPRA opinions and grant the opening of the roccoli and hunting notwithstanding finch and starling. Federcaccia Lombardia is ready to bear the costs of the appeals necessary to defend the exceptions that it hopes that the Region will grant from the appeals of environmental associations or the Government. If the Lombardy Region, on the other hand, wishes to comply with the ISPRA opinions, Federcaccia will resort to the TAR in order to challenge the opinions themselves. In fact, in the matter of exceptions, ISPRA not only does not provide the data that by law it would be required to provide, but issues opinions with exclusively political choices and evaluations, when it should be limited to technical opinions.
Federcaccia Lombardia believes that roccoli are real cultural assets and as such to be protected in their functional integrity and in full operation, as required by the Code of Cultural Heritage and Landscape, law of the Italian Republic since 2004. The European Community itself with own Directives protect the cultural heritage of the member countries. The activity of the roccoli must be safeguarded as such, as there is certainly no "... satisfactory alternative solutions".
