Federcaccia Piemonte expresses the deepest disappointment for the new 2015-2016 Regional Hunting Calendar approved yesterday by the Regional Council with some restrictions.
Referring to 2015/16 vintage hunting calendar, as soon as it was approved by the Regional Council, Federcaccia Piemonte considers it only right to express its profound disappointment for the contents and methods with which it was drawn up, and imposed on the more than 25.000 Piedmontese hunters. Councilor Giorgio Ferrero wanted to ignore the requests of the hunting world, behaving like never before, in an irrational way as is customary in these times, and proceeding as if his powers did not also include that relating to the hunting activity. It is not true that the calendar has been agreed with Federcaccia or other Hunting Associations of the Regional Coordination, nor can it be an excuse to avoid possible appeals in this way, since it is precisely recent history (see the case of the ptarmigan) to demonstrate how when both the losing party and the Region itself cannot be fulfilled, as logic and coherence would like. The beginning of the hunting season chosen by the Councilor is still very far away, on October 4, the day of St. Francis, and therefore there would still be the possibility of making corrections and improvements, but it is difficult to believe that this can happen with those from the beginning showed little collaboration with the hunting world.
Federcaccia Piemonte is not there this time, and will call together associates and sympathizers to coordinate protest actions and initiatives, certain that if the hunting activity is guaranteed by national laws, even by the Italian Constitution which delegates the Regions to it, it has become very problematic in Piedmont. A meeting of the Regional Coordination of Piedmontese Hunting Associations has already been called to address the issue.
