Federcaccia Piemonte reports on the new Hunting Calendar and the selection of wild boar hunting following the meeting of the Coordination of the AA.VV. with the commissioner Ferrero.
Federcaccia Regionale del Piemonte has sent a note to all the provincial presidents of the region and to the Piedmontese hunters in which it reports on the meeting that took place on the morning of 7 May with Councilor Ferrero. This is the text of the letter:
“This morning the Coordination of Piedmontese Hunting Associations met Councilor Ferrero, with a rich agenda. In reality, only two topics were discussed: one, the bad 2015/16 hunting calendar, which was dear to hunters; the other, the selective hunting of wild boar, the 'workhorse' of our counterpart. Coming to the calendar, the Associations expressed all their disappointment, in terms of modalities and contents, specifying why a similar situation had never occurred before today. The Councilor took note of it, agreeing on the need to make corrections and pointing out how it was the urgency of having approved it that made that document… imperfect!
Finally, his proposal was to set up a "working table", similar to that advisory body envisaged by the repealed 70/96 (Regional Committee for the coordination of hunting activities and for the protection of wildlife, Article 24), which would also be attended by representatives of the AAVV, the Environmentalist and Agricultural Associations, as well as Local Authorities. From their joint work, changes and ... improvements would have resulted, which the council could vote again before the start of the hunting season. The Hunting Associations have offered their availability, as long as this happens in a very short time.
Federcaccia Piemonte believes that the path of consultation is possible, perhaps even desirable, provided that the general injustice of a document is healed, which now places us as… the tail-end of the national hunting world. Some points remain indispensable for us, starting with the opening that must be anticipated and so on, without now wanting to go into detail about what our requests may be.
On the other hand, dear friends, we would like to know from you, and from the hunters of our sections, is what are the expectations of the Piedmontese hunting world, and therefore if faced with an offer from the Councilor deemed inadequate, it is preferable to accept to have the guarantee of a regular or non-regular season start, vice versa, act in the appropriate fora to obtain protection and justice. It should be specified here as the deadline for submitting an appeal to the Regional Administrative Court, 60 days. from the date of publication, is June 15, and therefore it is urgent to have your feedback in the manner that we will report to you in the coming days.
Sure you will know how to be cooperative, we thank you and send our best regards.
