Exageruma nen it is always a healthy rule for those who know well how balance must be achieved, know the sense of proportion, consider modesty more than pride, must believe and not just obey.
Exageruma nen, because you have to know how to get your foot off the gas at the right time, to value and not demean, to encourage rather than repress.
Exageruma nen Chiamparino president, because 25.000 Piedmontese citizens, hunters, enthusiasts and respectable people, without problems that obscure their criminal records, are regularly mistreated by his administration, subjected to a treatment that they had never undergone in the previous forty years. Not even in the darkest years. Ours is not rhetoric, nor whining, but only the polite and decisive cry of the Piedmontese hunters, "species" ... even at risk since it was decided they did not deserve consideration, and believed they were expendable on the altar of the pure political convenience, in search of some tiring balancing act ... post-elections.
Since your first acts, the Piedmontese hunting world has been forced to ask administrative justice for protection and defense, proposing three appeals to the Regional Administrative Court, all won although ignored by those who instead should have taken note. Not even you have drawn the due political consequences, discounted elsewhere but not in Turin where the judgments of administrative justice would seem to weigh and ... be valid, depending on who benefits at that time.
Hunting activity, hunting, a lawful exercise permitted by the laws of the State, which has always been the heritage and culture of Piedmontese civilization (as Venaria, Stupinigi and Racconigi testify), seems to have become an unwelcome, harmful, even dangerous activity, and against us 'they take penalizing measures, discriminatory methods are adopted.
Prohibitions, limitations, political initiatives against hunting; the last one, of the past month, is very serious, meaning little respect for the rules of dialogue and consultation with the parties: an amendment to the law has been voted which prohibits, without scientific reasons, the hunting of species that are always hunted, and precisely on the day when the draft of the new regional law on hunting was presented, very important because Piedmont still lacks it.
A real coup, even if others define it ... a blitz, in short, one of those "clever" ones typical of Italian politics, too accustomed to sordid maneuvers to achieve its goals, but which thus empties the nascent Piedmontese legislative instrument of content, irreparably influencing future hunting calendars.
It was the hunters' turn, tomorrow it could be the turn of the fishermen, or of mushroom and truffle hunters, snail and frog gatherers, all lovers of ancient passions that bind Piedmontese man to the territory, to its natural resources. Farmers and ranchers do not even seem sheltered, especially those of the most disadvantaged areas such as the mountains and where rurality collides with the fanaticism of certain animal-environmentalist instances who would like to transform Piedmont into a single park, an oasis consigned to nature that in this way she would once again become the absolute master of the territory.
President Chiamparino we know well what it takes to become a hunter in Italy, what legal requirements must be respected, what costs are faced and how many taxes are paid to the State and the Region, what is the contribution of the hunting activity to the recovery of damage from wildlife to fields and crops and to the correct management of the environment.
We know everything about us hunters: who we are, how many, where we come from, how much we cost or how much we return to society in economic terms; the same is not true for those who regularly oppose us, and so we do not know how many these detractors really are, whether they pay out of their own pockets or instead only cost, how much profit they produce for the community. Here the lovers of Diana and St. Hubert receive a bad treatment, unmatched in Europe where our category is respected and considered on a par with others equally important, not as if they were children of a lesser God!
Exageruma nen president, because even if Piedmontese hunters do not write Christmas letters, nor do they no longer believe in the Befana or ask for gifts, at least they expect the right respect and consideration. They want it.
Finally, rest assured for the next Holy Night 2015, because even if we see a man dressed in red crossing the skies of our cities on a sleigh pulled by a reindeer shot, none of us will shoot them, mistaking them for deer of the magnificent Piedmontese mountains: the hunters are also very knowledgeable and respectful of the rules.
Exageruma nen pressident Sergi Chiamparino, but Bon-e Feste 'dcò a chiel.
