Federcaccia replies to the accusations of ENPA and says enough, "We are not killers, live calls raised with love". Immediate response from the Animal Protection Department, still controversy, "Disrupted reaction, is keeping birds prisoners love?".
The Savona section of the Italian Federation of Hunting responds hard-nosed to the denunciation and accusations of the Enpa, following the discovery - on the heights of the Manie - of three laces arranged on the usual passages of wild animals towards the pools of water. The Enpa had pointed the finger thus: "Unfortunately the political world, apart from some personal exceptions, is insensitive to animal rights issues and problems, as evidenced by the recent approval of a law in the Senate that allows the use of live calls for hunting; these are poor birds raised and raised in very small cages in the dark, which see the light only during the hunting, to make them sing and attract other birds in front of the hunter's guns ”. The Federation of Hunting is not there: "Whenever the deplorable episodes of poaching are discovered and unmasked, certain animal rights associations do nothing but approach these phenomena, which, moreover, the Federcaccia has always firmly pursued with its Voluntary Hunting Guards and condemned in all venues, to the regular hunting activity regularly authorized and even more justified by scientific findings proven and recognized internationally, practiced by hunters with irreproachable, conscious and responsible behavior ".
"Therefore - they continue - this targeted exploitation by animal rights activists aimed at linking the perpetrators of criminal offenses to regular hunters as honest citizens does not bring any benefit to society and to readers in general who often, despite themselves, deliberately acquire news spoiled to discredit the hunting world ". “Similarly with regard to the deplorable mistreatment suffered by animals, Federcaccia would like to point out that they cannot be equated in the least with the legitimate and regular detention of live decoys that are bred and lovingly cared for by the owners”, conclude by the Federation.
Enpa's response to Federcaccia was immediate, continuing the controversy which, instead of stopping, continues and becomes more heated. The volunteers of the Enpa of Savona respond to the reaction of the Federation, underlining that for their part - regarding the discovery of the laces in the Finale area - there was not a "single word that could compare this barbaric illegal activity to the exercise of hunting" . “Federcaccia's reaction is a mixed one - animal rights activists point the finger -. Enpa only wanted to underline the politicians' insensitivity to animal rights issues, where it says that it would be good to institute greater penalties for poaching offenses. He also only wanted to underline, as everyone can see, that the aforementioned politicians, in this case the locals Biasotti, Tullo and Vazio, are instead extremely sensitive to the requests of hunters, such as hunting with calls, recently approved by the themselves in the Senate ".
Obviously, there is also a reference to the theme of live calls which, for Federcaccia, are “lovingly” bred: “We obviously overlook the affirmation that hunters love and treat their calls well. Readers and all people of common sense will judge whether it is love to raise and keep captive small birds, born to fly free and used to attract similar ones in front of the guns of these strange amateurs; and in order to avoid the usual recriminations, Enpa remembers that it fights against every cage, aquarium, zoo, circus, aviary or meat factory ”.
“The problem with hunting associations is that they defend every type of hunting to the bitter end and a priori, even the doubly barbaric one of live calls. But hunters remain calm, it will certainly not be the complaints of an animal rights association that will affect the absolute power they have over the management of fauna: with the politicians that we find ourselves they will be able to continue for centuries to practice their 'sport' in the ways and times they want ”, conclude from the animal rights section of Savona.
