Federcaccia Toscana: in Pescia, hunting at school and at the table; completed the cycle of lessons on the management of ungulates and small sedentary fauna.
A final lunch entrusted to the expert hands of the multi-starred chef Igles Corelli has worthily concluded the adventure that saw as protagonists students and teachers of the Agricultural Institute of Pescia Dionisio Anzilotti, the Tuscan Federcaccia together with that of Pistoia and Pesciatina, the wildlife technicians of the association Unifauna, agronomists specializing in wildlife management and the professors of the Faculty of Agriculture of Florence. Hunting had been at the center of a series of lessons on the management of ungulates and small sedentary fauna with a final visit to reproduction and repopulation facilities managed by the Association. One hundred and more years for the Agricultural Institute named after the great jurist Dionisio Anzilotti and for Federcaccia, which celebrated its birthday right here in Pescia in 2000: the agreement was immediate and total.
"Hunting in Tuscany is culture and contribution to the maintenance and development of biodiversity and is linked with a thousand threads to the territory and to rural society" explained the president of Federcaccia Toscana, Moreno Periccioli, in thanking for the welcome given to the proposal of the 'Association, entrusting the numbers with the task of corroborating this thesis: "Twelve million euros for wildlife management, 500.000 working hours that our volunteers make available throughout the year tell us what hunting in Tuscany is today and how it is can represent a great opportunity for the territory. ".
Giuliano Incerpi, honorary president of the Giacomo Puccini section of the Federcaccia Pesciatina spoke of a "replicable" module, enhancing the training resources available to the Association, while the Syrian Dean Becattini defined hunting as a "garrison for the territory and opportunities" expressing appreciation for the success of the initiative.
The 90.000 wild boars and more than 40.000 roe deer collected in Tuscany also suggest possible educational paths and, once again, possible employment opportunities: this was recalled by the national president of Federcaccia Gian Luca Dall'Olio, present in Pescia to underline the importance of initiative. Present in the room, among others, the president of the province of Pistoia Federica Fratoni and the councilor Rino Fragai, the presidents of Federcaccia Pistoia Giovanni Pratesi and Pescia Luciano Nardini and Franco Polidori president of ARGA, the association that brings together journalists specialized in information agriculture, food and environment sectors.
Serving dishes born from the creativity of Igles Corelli were served by the young people from the Montecatini Hotel Institute: linked, as their principal Riccardo Monti recalled, to their colleagues at the Agricultural Institute by friendship and a short supply chain reasoning.
