Federcaccia Umbria, defamatory letters against the Hunting Association; there hunting, men and anonymous cowards.
Anonymous defamatory letters Federcaccia are circulating in these days in the mailboxes of Umbrian hunters. What would not be done for a few more cards. To be a hunter one must first of all be a man. Clean, straight men who do not need to hide behind anonymity to express their ideas and thoughts. This has been taught to us since our earliest childhood memories, and we knew this until a few days ago, when in Umbria - but in particular in the area of Spoleto and its surroundings - an anonymous letter began to circulate that discredits Federcaccia, a letter that would be written and distributed - according to its bearers - "for the good of the hunt". Evidently what we had always known turned out not to be entirely true. There are, alas, some subjects - let's hope very few - that we can only define cowards, who deal in their own way with hunting and the hunting world. And they deal with it without the slightest respect for the rules, for loyalty and decency, hiding behind an anonymous letter to launch their own slanderous arrows.
On the merits, the bugbear described in the letter is the agreement, dating back to March 2014, between Federcaccia, Arcicaccia, Anuu and Legambiente, which exclusively concerns the defense of biodiversity, the natural environment and fauna. This agreement says "no" to soil loss, forest fires, widespread illegality, genetically modified organisms, alien species and other issues of fundamental importance for everyone, hunters, environmentalists and ordinary citizens. These are objectives around which, on other tables, the Universities of Milan, Naples, Urbino and Pollenzo, the Italian Society of Preventive Veterinary Medicine, Coldiretti and CNCN, as well as Confindustria and Symbola also agreed. All points, these, that go beyond being simply for or against hunting. So much so that between Federcaccia and Legambiente there are still vast distances in terms of hunting activities.
Well, the anonymous sender used that agreement to exploit the recent early stop of the hunt for woodcock, cesena and song thrush, supported - among others, unfortunately - also by Legambiente. A measure, the one taken by Minister Galletti, which Federcaccia is strongly opposing with the appeal we presented to the Lazio TAR, and ad adjuvandum by the various Regions concerned, including Umbria.
Without wanting to give lessons to anyone, we believe that hunting also defends itself by finding banks or consensus, support or at least non-belligerence on some fundamental issues, even among those who are not hunters but who, at the same time, do not belong to the fundamentalist animal rights world. , which opposes us in an ideological way. Evidently, the anonymous defamer is more interested in weaving today than the future of hunting as a whole. But hunters are not fools.
