Federcaccia Umbria on the new regional hunting calendar valid for the 2014-2015 hunting season, “Positive calendar, but…”.
Good times for turdidae, woodcock and sedentary. Quail, wild boar in single form and rock partridge are aspects to be reviewed for the better. We have read the regional hunting calendar for the 2014-15 season. Obviously, there is no perfect hunting calendar capable of satisfying all hunters. It is a synthesis made every year by the Region, to ensure that the season runs smoothly or appeals and, at the same time, to satisfy the various needs in compliance with the technical-scientific parameters. In this sense, a unitary document was also produced signed by all the regional hunting associations, which interpreted the main requests coming from the Umbrian hunters' base. Having said that, we believe that the Region produced by the Region is a good hunting calendar, which in a balanced way welcomes many of our requests, even if partially reduced. For example, we are satisfied with the times established by the calendar for hunting woodcock, turdidae and all sedentary game, including ungulates. With regard to the pre-opening, moreover, from the initial two half days arranged in the draft we have come to a full day (September 7st) and two half days, 14th and XNUMXth.
Moreover, something that has not happened for years now, we have recovered the quail in pre-opening, with the half day of 14 September during which it will be possible to hunt this small galliforme, object of interest in many territories. We consider it an achievement, even if it seems impracticable to say the least to expect it to be hunted only on the stubble, and not also on the meadows or meadows at the top. We therefore ask the Regine to revise the calendar in this sense, also to avoid a rain of sanctions.
Another aspect on which we do not agree is that relating to the hunting of wild boar in single form. In fact, the calendar identifies the fixed days of Thursday, Saturday and Sunday for collective hunts, but leaves a free hand to fans of individual wild boar hunting, allowing them to undermine it even on Mondays and Wednesdays. This represents an element of discrimination, of violation of regional law 14/94 where - in paragraph 4 of article 32 - it prescribes to "avoid, as far as possible, the simultaneous exercise of wild boar hunting with the exercise of other types hunting activity ”and, finally, an element of scarce safety for all the other hunters and users of the woods, since with these rules it will be possible to run into hunters armed with whole ammunition every day. We therefore ask that even wild boar hunting in single form respect the fixed days of Thursday, Saturday and Sunday, and that the Region also urgently changes the regional regulation for wild boar hunting in this sense.
Another request not accepted is that of reintegration into the hunting calendar of the rock partridge subject, obviously, to the presentation of a technical management plan, damages promised but never presented by the Region. Our request stems from the desire to allow Umbrian hunters, passionate about this noble wild, to be able to manage it also in Umbria and, moreover, to finally be in order when they go hunting in other regions, as these allow the rock partridge only hunters from regions where this hunt is allowed. Finally, since the regional councilor will have to stipulate reciprocity agreements with neighboring regions as soon as possible, we ask that this restrictive - and in our opinion unconstitutional - rule be abolished.
