We are particularly pleased to report on the recent recognition of Federcaccia Veneto as a new partner in the Regional Table of the Partnership of agricultural and rural system for the CAP 2021-2027 and sustainable development 2030 as representative of the regional hunting sector. The designation follows the candidacy made by Federcaccia Veneto, with the support of the Faunistic and Agro-environmental Studies and Research Office of Federcaccia Nazionale, following the request of interest for this figure expressed by the Veneto Region last August. As hunters we are particularly sensitive to agro-environmental issues of the national and local territory and we are obviously interested in following the dynamics and evolutions of the agricultural landscape determined by community policies.
In fact, we are convinced that agriculture should be increasingly supported, to guarantee employment and production, but it must necessarily be increasingly aimed at the protection and enhancement of related environmental services and biodiversity itself. Furthermore, in these themes, we hunters can be active and reference figures for interventions and measures for environmental improvement, as well as in the management of impacts and damage in agriculture by wildlife. We believe that the dynamics of wildlife in regional agro-forestry environments must be planned and above all managed with pragmatism in order to find the right compromise of coexistence with the agricultural territory.
The figure of the hunter can also be seen as the guardian of the agricultural territory, in particular in the marginal areas a low profitability, where the danger of abandonment is greater and where environmental and hunting activities can contribute to the support and enhancement of these areas. Federcaccia hopes that this opportunity will be only the beginning of an effective collaboration and mutual discussion on the issue ofimpact of hunting in agriculture not only in Veneto, soliciting the participation of the hunting world also in the other Italian regions. We believe that fauna of hunting interest is an integral part of the agro-environmental panorama and that it cannot be considered only in emergency or conflict situations, as has often happened in the past.
