An unsolved question. The section of the Veneto of Italian Federation of Hunting did not consider the response of the regional councilor satisfactory Joseph Pan on the granting of two days of pre-opening at wood pigeon and returned to the office. Indeed, this same response has left us disconcerted by “the absolute inconsistency of the arguments and the demonstration of strong gaps in the knowledge of hunting in Veneto and Italy”.
The new letter is signed by the number one of FIDC Veneto, Flavio Tosi, and asks again for the famous two days. In particular, the hunting association noted how Pan's words are curiously similar to those of the regional councilor Sergio Berlato who lashed out at the requests we are talking about. Tosi pointed out that the reproductive period of the wood pigeon ends in the third decade of October, therefore for the protection of the populations (as desired by the councilor) the opening should take place on November 1st.
The pre-opening - we still read in the letter - would subtract only two days from the normal season and not a week, thus removing one of Pan's answers. Pre-opening pushes hunters to choose sampling locations other than those used for turtledove, consequently the pressure on this other volatile is relieved by a lot. This fact was contested in the response of the regional councilor.
But then why did Stival and Tosi close the hunt for a week and not just 2 days in the past 5 years ???
