FEDERFAUNA: Open letter from Massimiliano Filippi (FederFauna) to Confavi.
I'm with Signora Maria, so I go down to the square next to Maria Cristina.
Maria Cristina Caretta, President of Confavi, touched my heart as she extended her appeal in Veneto to the general mobilization of the hunting world, also to all bearers of Rural Culture. Not because I am interested in chasing finch or brambling, which in any case I do not disdain wrapped in bacon and accompanied by a warm slice of polenta, but because I believe that as it happened on March 9th, much more than a local provision is at stake. and which is of interest only to a part of the citizens.
Also in this case there is in the background the epic clash between an urban culture far from reality, which has a Disney-like image of nature and animals and which tries to overwhelm everything it does not know and the rural culture which is respectful of everything. Created because it bears an ancient knowledge and because it has its roots firmly planted in history and popular traditions; and this time too it is a right to be questioned.
In this specific case it is the right of some to practice a traditional activity taking advantage of the opportunities provided by the Community Directives, but it is no different from the right of some others to be able to attend a circus show or a palio in their city, or some others to be able to carry out the work they want. It is no different from the right of a Muslim to be able to buy the meat he wants, it is no different from the right of Mrs. Maria to be able to cook lamb for Easter or of Mrs. Giovanna to be able to wear a fur coat in winter, without feeling accused of being "Murderers"!
I have read that, with the problems that our country has today, in September the Senate will in any case return to discuss a bill called "European convention for the protection of pets" and that in Veneto another one called "new rules for the protection of pets ". I read them both and not only did I not find any reference to the sacrosanct human rights, but I saw the same animals "used" to assign power and skills to the usual animal rights activists.
The same animal rights activists who would like to take away from Mrs. Maria the freedom to cook lamb for Easter or not. In this holiday period I have not yet had time to consult all the FederFauna Councilors or the Presidents of the various Associations that participated in the Rome demonstration, not even those who repeatedly urged me to return to the Coordination for Rural Culture. so I'm speaking on a personal basis, but I'll be there in Venice!
I will be against a subculture like the animal rights one, which, wanting to impose on all unspecified "animal rights", risks leading to the limitation of human rights and I will be there for the freedom of Venetian hunters, for mine and for that of all the Ladies of Italy! ...
