In a few days the Calabria Region has changed his mind on the so-called several times “Disciplinary” of wild boar hunting, performing in acrobatic pirouettes, more suited to circus environments than to institutional settings. After the sudden and untimely raising of the minimum number of team members to 25 established by Executive Decree No. 8782 of 27 July - in point 4 the Decree states: in article 5, point 2, lett. c) the number "15" is replaced with the number "25" - to which Federcaccia reacted immediately and on which it was verbally reassured that the parameter would be brought back to the one in force before the pandemic - today followed the publication on the Burc a further decree in which the number of team hunters it is established in 15 components with the justification of a "mere material error" in the previous decree.
A legitimate reason, except that the reported point 4 as it was formulated and published on July 27 makes it very little credible. In front of these incomprehensible and illogical facts, we still ask ourselves the reasons for last Wednesday's blitz, in the absence of any comparison. Who wanted it and for what reasons, since this reversal took place in just three days? What happened does nothing but contribute to increasing the uncertainties and the sense of mistrust of the whole hunting world.
One thing is certain and we are sorry to see it: on such an important issue not only for hunting, but - as we have repeatedly emphasized - for Calabrian community as a whole, confusion and approximation seem to reign within the Region, all on the skin of hunters. Federcaccia reiterates the seriousness of what happened, just over a month after the registration of the teams, and in order to avoid further, unwelcome and unexpected surprises for what concerns the Vinca and the imminent approval of the Calendar, welcomes the Councilor's initiative to convene the Consultation.
In fact, it is extremely necessary to re-establish a serious and close confrontation with all the stakeholders in that place and according to appropriate rules. not only the definitive choices for the hunting season and the real situation of the Regional Wildlife Plan but also once and for all the "Disciplinary" question at a time when even the health emergency for African swine fever requires targeted interventions without delay and margins of error.
The wild boar theme with all its consequences and repercussions, including economic and public safety ones, cannot be a topic of contingent and almost incidental discussion. Federcaccia presented its plan to the Region, the result of studies and careful considerations, which is ready, as already mentioned, to share and discuss. For this reason, even if we have not seen it on the agenda, we hope that the "Disciplinary" and all that pertains to it, is the object of attention during the consultation tomorrow [2 August, ed.] (source: FIDC).
