Enough with the insults, enough with the death wishes. A hunter, Andrea Altea, died on Sunday during a wild boar hunt in Sardinia for a dramatic fate. In offering his heartfelt condolences to the family, the National Coordination of Federcaccia Hunters wants to condemn certain comments posted by social networks. In particular the wish of a Apulian “doctor”: “It has to happen more often”.
It is upsetting that such a statement comes precisely from those who, due to the Hippocratic oath pronounced at the beginning of their profession, should only protect human health and certainly not wish deaths. Hoping to know the opinion of the Medical Association and while waiting for the necessary measures to be taken, the National Coordination of Hunters Federcaccia reminds that the practice of hunting is regulated by a law of the State - the 157 of the 1992 - and that all hunters exercise in full compliance with this legislation.
We cannot fail to be indignant at such statements, we cannot wish death to a man or rejoice in the face of such a tragic accident only because one does not share a legitimately exercised passion.
