A video that continues to circulate
An inappropriately collected video is circulating on the mobile phones of Brescian and Lombard hunters, garnering the indignation of many of us. It is a film that tells of a civil and correct dialogue between a hunter from Valle Trompia and the President of the Region Attilio Fontana. The images are "stolen" but the audio is clear and even a national newspaper close to the 5Stelle, severely punished by the electorate of Brescia in the recent regional elections with a meager 2% of the votes, reports the conversation with subheadings, just so as not to miss a word. In our opinion, this newspaper distorts the intentions of the Valtrumplino hunter who, in his conversation, is solely to blame for having expressed his discontent with President Fontana on some issues that are still unresolved today. The reaction of the re-President Fontana is truly dumbfounded, and frankly we cannot let two passages fall on deaf ears. First of all, it is not true that the Region has "done everything requested - Fontana's words - by the hunters": in reality, with reference to the issue addressed in that meeting (rings and decoys) it did absolutely nothing and the hunters need, according to the our humble opinion, of clarity.
Too many things you don't know about
And then: Catches at least for decoy farms? Not received. Hunting by way of exception? Not received. We know very well that no one is required to do even the impossible on the exceptions, but if the President was referring instead to the hunting calendars, even there he didn't hit the mark. The hunters only ask that a calendar be approved in line with the provisions of the national law and in line with the neighboring European countries. It's difficult? Perhaps, but in the Regions where Federcaccia was listened to more (and not only halfway to fix the hunters' discontent), the calendars held up to the TAR, and were even more permissive than the Lombard one. And the TAR finally rejected the animal rights appeal here too. The President is perhaps unaware of many things, but one thing seems to be established: in the Region it is always the fault of others, both when things are done and when things are not done. Furthermore, in our Region the officials who do not listen to the associations, who cause delays in openings, who forget to verify the fundamental steps of the Wildlife Hunting Plan, who slip on galliformes come…. alright let's leave it alone!
The support of hunters
But one thing is absolutely unacceptable and on which we sincerely do not feel like turning our heads and pretending nothing has happened and that is that the President of the Lombardy Region believes that among hunters there are more bad apples than healthy ones, these are his words told by the famous video. And certainly the Region is not in check by the hunters, as the ill-advised words of the Re-President might lead us to believe, which the animalist acronyms lined up to protest under the Region on the occasion of his proclamation took advantage of: among the fans of those flags there they are criminals who have destroyed many hunting lodges, stolen decoys, and the same lodge of the hunter who spoke with Fontana. Perhaps Fontana should be happy to be supported by hunters, who represent a healthy part of society, and not by them. Even if only for mere electoral calculation: at the event promoted by animal rights activists, the initials of the promoting associations were more numerous than the number of participants, probably less than twenty people. There is little to add: the Re-President must clarify and correct.
FIDC requests
And the elected regional councilors who also benefited from a single vote from Brescian hunters should promote this request for clarification: draft a good document, sign it by councilors close to the hunting world and ask the Re-President to clarify once for all how he thinks but above all how he thinks about setting up the action of the Government of Lombardy on the subject of Hunting. Federcaccia Brescia and Federcaccia Lombardia have no interest in interrupting their collaboration with the offices of the Agriculture Department at the Pirellone but at the same time we are not willing to accept any kind of offense because we are good people!
