No to protectionism
In recent days it was approved by the European Parliament law for the restoration of nature, an opportunity also for hunters to reconstitute and conserve environments useful for sedentary and migratory wildlife. Be careful though, lest someone transform it into yet another attempt at sterile "protectionism" contrary to the very spirit of the law.
The two reasons to explore further
These are Buconi's words: “The approval of this rule is important for two reasons. First of all, we move from the concept of conservation to that of land management, so the difference is substantial. The second reason lies in the fact that the objective of the law is for the States to recover at least 30% of the territory in poor conservation conditions in the first years".
A rule to be supervised
“For us this is very interesting because I think for example of all the habitat lost for resident game: our pheasants, our hares, our partridges, but also any other species of wildlife. Obviously we will have to ensure that the rule is applied correctly."
