The event of January 21st
In memory of a heartfelt figure within the Federcaccia- UCT of Grosseto, the shareholder Nadio Bianucci, last Saturday 21 January a canine event was organized for single-track dogs on foxes. The test took place in two Maremma hunting farms, in the municipalities of Civitella-Paganico and Campagnatico and attracted numerous participants from all over the region and an interest, given the particularity of its kind, also from neighboring regions. Almost fifty competitors divided into seven different teams competed for the trophy. At the end of the day, a team from the province of Florence and captained by Brunelli Cristian emerged victorious.
Italian hunting tradition
Speaking of fox hunting with dogs, one immediately thinks of the more famous English hunting which has little or nothing to do with the Italian hunting tradition. In our case, in fact, the test is centered on the work of a single dog who must be able to seek out, find and chase the fox according to the work standard of his own breed.
Proceeds and charity
However, Saturday didn't have a purely competitive purpose but more than anything else it wanted to create a meeting point between enthusiasts of the discipline that Federcaccia - UCT wants to relaunch on the Grosseto and regional territory. At the end of the test, the well-attended lunch was an opportunity to raise additional funds in addition to the registration fees which were donated to the Farfalla di Grosseto charity.
