FITAV: Cyprus Grand Prix, the Azzurri shine by earning their place on the podium; they won gold and bronze for the single Olympic pit and silver for the team competition.
Erminio Frasca wins the Cyprus Grand Prix, Olympic pit specialty, race-test with the new Issf rules. The policeman from Priverno beat the Russian Maxim Kosarev 15-14 in the 13 targets of the duel for gold and silver. In the direct clash for the bronze, Valerio Grazini from Viterbo won over the other Russian Ivan Dovgal, 12 to 10 the score. In the six-man final Daniele Resca (12 + 2) imposed himself on the Cypriot Adonis Milonas (12 + 1) and finished in fifth place. Eighth Giovanni Pellielo with the qualifying result of 117/125.
In the double trap the gold went to the British Steven Scott (26/30) who beat the Russian Maxim Lasarev (24/30). Fourth our Davide Gasparini (24/30) who left the bronze medal to the Russian Aleksander Furasyev (25/30). At the end Ferdinando Rossi is 12th with 122/150, Valerio Vallifuoco 16th with 112. Italy is definitely better in the team tournament: the pit wins gold in front of Russia and Cyprus and the trio of Double Trap, Gasparini-Rossi -Vallifuoco is silver with a score of 366/450; gold to Russia 2 (390), bronze to Russia 1 (361).
