Just under 2700 admissions. The last weekend of the skeet shooting was characterized by growing and encouraging numbers as regards the Winter Regional Championships, as officially communicated by FITAV. The 25 scheduled events took place on the platforms of thirteen different regions and the turnout was registered 2682 participants. The specialty that has been the most popular, a confirmation in this case, it was the Olympic pit, which nearly reached two thousand members (1945 to be precise), closely followed by the Universal Pit with 342 participants, the Hunting Course (226 members), the Skeet (86) and the Double Trap with 83 athletes protagonists of the competitions in program.
By examining the geography better, then, one can see how Lombardy was once again the region with the strongest participation, a result also achieved last weekend (January 16-17). The 595 members of the northern region represent an important number and even double that of the second region, Sicily (299 shooters competing). The third regional place was instead "conquered" by Tuscany with its 290 participants divided into three races. Luciano Rossi, number one of the Federation, enthusiastically remarked on all these figures, recalling how in some Italian regions the winter season has not yet begun, therefore, growth takes on even more significance.
The next appointment is scheduled for the weekend of 30 31 and January, a two-day event characterized by new races and new records to be achieved. What are the other numbers of the weekend just ended that are worth remembering? Campania, Umbria and Piedmont have done well in this sense. The 220 participants from Campania are a clear testimony of this, divided into the categories Olympic Pit and Hunting Path. The same goes for the Piedmontese and Umbrian shooters (202 and 201 respectively), even if in Piedmont the categories chosen were three (Fossa Olimpica, Fossa Universale and Double Trap), while in Umbria there were two (Fossa Olimpica and Double Trap). . The “rearmost” region of this special ranking was the Molise.
THEASD Campomarino it hosted the Fossa Olimpica competition which was however postponed, a factor that influenced the final numbers; at the Double Trap race organized by theASD TAV Riccia 23 shooters participated. In conclusion, it should be emphasized that the Olympic Trench specialty is present in all the regions of the Winter Championships except in one, Veneto (196 shooters enrolled in the Universal Trench and in the Hunting Course).
