The date of the 3 February 2016 will forever be remembered as a historic moment of the skeet shooting. This sport, in fact, has been included in the list of official sports disciplines of theScientific Sports Institute of Foligno (Perugia): this is the first time ever as regards an Italian school and the day was enriched by the first approach of Umbrian students with the new reality. The students of the institute were hosted by the Shooting Foligno, a structure in which the children received a general smattering of the sport and some hints of history. Also, even more significant moment, there was the opportunity to carry out a first practical test directly on the platform.
The Technical Commissioner of the specialties was present in Foligno Compak Sporting e Sporting, Veniero Spada, in addition to the shooter Katiuscia Sword (blue who is part of the Fiamme Oro), the instructor FITAV (Italian Shooting Federation) Antonio Picone and the head of the Umbrian youth sector, Christine Maria Brescacin. Among other things, the ASD TAV Foligno is one of the most important in our country and can boast a very long history, which began in the distant 1886 (year of foundation): his national, European and Olympic successes are numerous, in particular the two gold and bronze medals at the Olympics in Munich (1972) and Moscow (1980) cannot be forgotten , in addition to the five Italian titles and many others.
The sports high school is a very recent institution in Italy, introduced only in 2014. In the case of Foligno, theGuglielmo Marconi Institute it provides three hours a week dedicated to sports disciplines among the subjects to be studied, depending on the request of pupils and parents, therefore the training offer is variable. It began, for example, with rugby, fencing, swimming and tennis and now skeet shooting is one of these disciplines. The last few days have confirmed the importance that young people have for this sport.
On the weekend of 30 31 and January, in fact, there was the great gathering of the youth sector at the shooting stand of the company AD TAV La Terrina in Arezzo, an important Tuscan gathering for disciplines of Olympic Pit and Skeet. On the platform 35 boys of the two specialties alternated, complete with a meeting dedicated to physical preparation to ascertain the level of the shooters. Today's historic day could now also be taken as inspiration by other Italian sports high schools when deciding the educational offer for the school year.
