Three days of appointments
For the first time, UNA Foundation lands at the peasant village of Coldiretti scheduled at the Circus Maximus in Rome for 13, 14 and 15 October. Three days of events and initiatives dedicated to Made in Italy, including products, cooking lessons and events where institutional representatives will alternate, with the aim of disseminating the biodiversity and sustainability of Italian agriculture. Fondazione UNA – Man, Nature, Environment –, which since 2015 has represented a meeting place for the exchange of ideas and projects between the hunting, environmentalist and scientific-academic world, will be present at the peasant village with a stand, where it will be possible to learn about its projects to protect biodiversity and taste wild game meat, a sustainable meat alternative and new economic opportunity. Game meat, in fact, is a good, healthy and sustainable choice thanks to its lower fat content compared to other meats, it has a high Omega-3 content, with known anti-inflammatory characteristics and is a good source of proteins and mineral salts such as iron and zinc. Furthermore, game guarantees a reduction in the production of CO2 and in the consumption of land and water.
A round table on biodiversity
Furthermore, on Friday 13 October at 15 pm at the Tent of Campagna Amica inside the Circus Maximus, Maurizio Zipponi, president of the UNA Foundation, will speak during the round table dedicated to the main themes linked to the importance of biodiversity and its protection, in addition to the presentation of the new ARBOR project - Biodiversity Recovery Action: Repopulation Operation -, an initiative by Campagna Amica, Coldiretti, Fondazione UNA, Associazione Patriarchi d'Italia, AB - Agrivenatoria Biodiversitalia - and other prestigious partners. The aim of ARBOR is to apply a mixed recovery method for the fruit varieties at risk of extinction in our countryside, thanks to the custodian farmers of Campagna Amica, who will be able to valorise these products also economically.
The contribution that the Foundation wants to offer
“Since the birth of the UNA Foundation, we have established alliances and synergies, in particular between hunters and farmers, for the development of ideas and projects, intervening with concrete actions in the territory” explains Maurizio Zipponi, president of the UNA Foundation “with the project ARBOR, which we have enthusiastically joined, we want to once again make our contribution to the protection not only of biodiversity, but also of local traditions and identities, to generate a positive impact on the environment and communities" (credits: Fondazione UNA ).
