A changed scenario
Fondazione UNA – Man, Nature, Environment – announces the launch, for its third edition, of theOperation Paladins of the Territory, an initiative born from the desire of the hunting world to actively contribute to the preservation and care of the environment and which over the course of the two previous editions has contributed to bringing the communities present in the territories closer to the hunting communities active locally, concretely showing what it means to be a hunter -paladin. For 2024, in response to the changing scenario and satisfying the needs that emerged in the first two editions from the individual communities, Operation Paladini del Territorio is renewed, expanding: from a project limited to a single week a year, to a real platform , designed to welcome all volunteer initiatives organized by local and national hunting sections, without any time limit.
The positive impact of hunting
At the heart of the renewed format of the Operation, there is the desire to put ourselves at the service of the communities and the territory, to further amplify the positive impact of the local sections of the hunting world on the countries and provinces that have benefited, and which will continue to benefit from their work. The objective of the UNA Foundation is therefore to systematise all the positive impact actions carried out by hunters during the twelve months of the year, not only in terms of cleaning the woodland environments or restoring the paths, but broadening the gaze to understand all the enormous variety of initiatives through which hunting clubs are active in their communities, also from a social point of view. Also for this edition, as was the case for the previous ones, the Foundation will be able to count on the precious support of its member hunting associations, Federcaccia, Enalcaccia and Arcicaccia, and on the involvement, through Assoarmieri, of the network of national armories, a fundamental place of exchange and meeting for hunters locally.
The words of President Zipponi
“Already in the past, the hunting community has shown promptness and solidarity, the times in which it was called upon to support the population during health or environmental emergencies, but also in the ordinariness of everyday life, with initiatives aimed at dissemination” he declared Maurizio Zipponi, president of Fondazione UNA. “With Operation Paladini del Territorio, since 2022, we have mobilized thousands of people, engaged in activities to restore polluted green areas, social inclusion projects, activities with a positive impact. This year we set ourselves the goal of systematising all the good things hunters do in an even broader and more ambitious project, aware of the commitment made and confident that Italian hunting organizations will be alongside us this time too". The announcement of the third edition is also linked to the republication of the Manifesto of the Paladin of the Territory, already defined previously and which today appears updated, to describe even more precisely the role of the hunter in contemporary society. In fact, the UNA Foundation recognizes a key role for the hunter-paladin on a social level, and not only in terms of promoting a sustainable hunting model, to protect and safeguard biodiversity: being a Paladin of the Territory also means being a Paladin of the communities that in such a territory are present.
