Beyond all logic
For at least three decades, the former environmentalists, who have now become solely and exclusively anti-hunting and animal rights activists, have made good and, above all, bad weather in the field of hunting legislation, continuously (and often completely unmotivated) reducing the times and types of hunting harvests . Now that for about a year the new government through Minister Lollobrigida has approached the enormous and complex hunting problem with a new, more pragmatic, scientific and community spirit, revolt is almost coming close and some press organs notoriously close to those environmentalist lobbies that have served as a political springboard for a fair number of leaders are spending themselves beyond all logic and even against all decency. Il Fatto Quotidiano appears very committed on this front, in fact, a few days ago he published a vitriolic article but largely based on stock phrases, clichés and data without any scientific basis, such as the count of very common murders among the hunting accidents that occurred in “extra-hunting” sphere: not a rhetorical figure but a real insult to the readers' intelligence.
Criminal consequences
Today the newspaper launches itself against the "Asset decree", accusing the government of having done gunsmiths and hunters a favor by "decriminalizing the use of lead in ammunition in wetlands". In reality, the so-called decriminalization has simply prevented a few thousand hunters from suffering disproportionate (criminal) consequences for a crime that throughout Europe is rightly punished with a simple administrative fine. That's all. Contrary to what the newspaper claims, the new government does not object to the ban on lead in Wetlands, it only wants to clarify the definition of "Wetlands" and rightly requests their precise identification to avoid unnecessary disputes. On the other hand, gunsmiths have already developed new "no toxic" materials normally used in wetlands for years and therefore do not need political gifts. As regards the alleged reduction of the power of the administrative judges, it certainly cannot be ignored that for decades, environmentalist associations have used the unjustified prerogative of being able to appeal to the various regional TARs completely free of charge, and being able to count on the " collaboration” of an increasingly less technical and increasingly politicized scientific body such as ISPRA.
The biodiversity of our country
Finally, just to put the icing on the cake, we return to the unfortunate killing of the Amarena bear to arouse public indignation that has absolutely nothing to do with hunting. The author of the article, however, does not spend even a word to underline that the precious biodiversity in our country is at serious risk due to the uncontrolled presence of some populations of wild fauna, especially non-native ones, and that even the native fauna ( both huntable such as wild boars and other ungulates, and protected or particularly protected such as wolves and bears) is constantly growing, with enormous risks for agriculture (destroyed crops), public safety (road accidents and attacks), and for the entire survival of a sector
as fundamental to the national economy as pig farming (African Swine Fever). And some species such as corvids are also experiencing worrying growth, having practically eradicated many small passerines such as goldfinches and greenfinches. As we can see, providing information is more difficult than disinforming (especially for political purposes), sowing alarmism that is not exaggerated but completely unmotivated (source: ANLC).
