Numerous “blunders”
The Emilia-Romagna region wasted no time and decided to ride the wave of the TAR ruling that rejected our appeal. It is a pity, however, that the press release issued with great emphasis focuses almost exclusively on two points: the scientific "sacredness" of the ISPRA opinion and a hypothetical destabilization operation implemented only by our Association while a climate of constructive discussion has been established with the others! Well, regardless of the fact that, as demonstrated by the numerous "blunders" committed over the years; the ISPRA opinion appears - as usual - more "political" than "technical scientific", Libera Caccia has decided to present its detailed appeal driven only by the desire to remain faithful to its statutory commitments as a union of Italian hunters. We certainly have no ulterior motives nor are we animated by the desire to fuel specious clashes with other associations or with the agricultural world with which, instead, we share many points.
Council of State
With our appeal (certainly not free but very expensive) we have only pointed out - and we do not intend to raise the white flag in the slightest, so much so that we will appeal to the Council of State - what was our belief and that is that the plan developed "to protect agricultural production" could have been formulated differently and less cruelly. For example, by authorizing much higher withdrawals during the hunting season.
The other hunting associations
But that's not all because, if serious investigations had been made into the damage caused by rock pigeons, it would probably have been realized that the real problem is certainly not the wood pigeons. Finally, but this can be considered a simple (but interesting) curiosity, we would like to know which hunting associations the Region is carrying out a constructive dialogue with and on what basis. A legitimate curiosity that could also be shared by many members of those same associations.
