THENational Free Hunting Association told through an official press release the two days of the ninth edition of Memorial Jasmine Cantelli reserved for dogs. Saturday 5 and Sunday 6 March Pianoro, on the hills of Bologna, hosted the important dog competition of hounds on hare and despite rain and adverse weather the final outcome was more than positive, as well as up to the level of the Emilian scenario. Handlers, dogs and judges were inevitably put in difficulty by the weather conditions, but the association wanted to underline how this Memorial is certainly not a zootechnical test for "living room dog lovers". That's why bad weather was considered a simple nuisance and nothing prevented the two days from coming to an end.
Saturday was characterized by five heats, while on Sunday there were six, always in the name of enthusiasm as regards the conduct of the test. It should not be forgotten that Libera Caccia collaborated with Pro Hound to ensure that the event was positive, with coordination managed by Paul Pancaldi and the supervision entrusted to the national delegate to the Cinofilia, Louis Parsi. The qualifications were reduced and affected by the rain, even if the show was equally of high dogphilia and also the president of Libera Caccia, Paul Sparvoli, and Gelsomino Cantelli's wife and son, Luisa and Michele, enjoyed it very much.
They are not lacking either Data System, vicar vice president of the association, the general secretary Massimo Ceccarelliin addition to Alberto Benatti, who is part of the Bureau of ANLC, Martin Nardi (Executive Committee) e Roberto Fabbri, recently elected to the office of president of the regional section. All the representatives took turns in the delivery of the prizes. The Cantelli Memorial was conquered by Giorgio Valentino, capable of winning a First Excellent with 176 points overall.
The race was judged by the judge Peter Dalla Giovanna. At the end of the competition, moreover, there was a nice and convivial meeting at the restaurant “Il Botteghino”, the place historically and traditionally chosen as a hospitable meeting place for both the competitors and the organizers. As already pointed out, the dog show for dogs from followed has existed for nine editions and the first ever dates back to 2008. The figure of Mino Cantelli is always remembered with immense affection by Libera Caccia, also because we are talking about the character who was president of the association from 1996 to 2008, the second longest term after the initial one of Mario Pagnoncelli (a good 28 years, from 1959 to 1987).
