The importance of research
Federcaccia and "Amici di Scolopax" with the coordination of the University of Milan continue the study of the migration of the species through the capture and equipping of woodcocks with satellite radio transmitter. The research makes it possible to precisely trace the movements of individuals and to determine the migratory phenology, the fidelity to the wintering and nesting sites and the repeatability of the migratory paths.
Acquisition of devices
Thanks to the sensitivity of the Conero Park Authority and the usual commitment of the consultant of the Federcaccia Studies and Research Office Alessandro Tedeschi, 3 woodcocks were captured and equipped with a satellite radio transmitter. The transmitters were purchased thanks to the funds made available by Federcaccia Marche, the Ancona 1, Fermo and Macerata 2 ATCs.
Future moves
A special thanks to all the collaborators who have allowed the realization of this important initiative. We will carefully follow the next moves to verify the success of the project undertaken (Federcaccia Marche).
