Great participation of the public and fans to the Bird fair di San Casciano di Cascina (Pisa) of 13 August last. Confirmation of an event now in its seventh edition which saw the organization of the local Committee led by President Francesco Pardossi with numerous exhibitor counters, new and more spacious competition fields, a beautiful award ceremony and many fans of the agricultural traditions that characterize our territory. They participated in the races 150 subjects distributed in the various categories, receiving the applause of the judges who compiled the rankings.
The awards were chaired by Valeriano Ciampi, president of FATFO (the association of Tuscan Fairs) and Marco Salvadori, regional president of Federcaccia, as well as local managers. Ciampi recalled in his speech the recent entry of FATFO into the CCT, the Confederation of Tuscan Hunters, not without difficulties and obstacles, and underlining the importance of joining forces and voice so that all aspects of this extraordinary world of hunting can strengthen their bond rooted in the territory and develop it for the knowledge of new generations; the CCT table must see all the realities of hunting represented in order to bring its demands with ever greater force. Ciampi also recalled the next Italian Championship of Songbirds Fairs, which will be held in Crespina on 25 August, which also sees the organizational collaboration of the CCT precisely because the union of forces is necessary to defend the heritage of our traditions.
Great applause from the hunters present underlined Ciampi's words followed by the intervention of Salvadori who, appreciating the words of President Ciampi, confirmed the new impetus and the new strength of the CCT with this important new membership. Salvadori also expressed to all those present the problems that led to the drafting of the new hunting calendar, exposing its particularities and the novelties of the new hunting season. The winners were for the category: Tordi Bottaccio Giordano Lami, for the Larks Angiolo Ghionzoli, for the Passeri Mauro Mazzanti, for Prispoloni and Sasselli Luca Peruzzi, for Fringuelli Luca Palatresi, for Cesene David Di Bendetto and for Merli Franco Bastiani, who have received the applause of all present.
