Hunting Balls: The renewed version for the dry ball produced by the Emilian house was designed not so much for wild boar hunting, as for precision and dynamic shooting with the 12 gauge shotgun.
With the aim of making the already excellent and famous Gualandi ball even more perfect and efficient, the Bologna-based company renews its products by presenting the Gualbo ball. As it emerged in some tests that the launch wad of the under-calibrated projectile, the latter consisting of the shock absorber cup and the container wad with a predetermined fracture of the ball, tended to detach generating incorrect trajectories, in the Gualandi house they thought of solving this problem by practicing specific ribs on the internal cone of the wad, in order to firmly block the lead ball on the wad.
With this new solution the Gualbo bullet in 12 GA caliber was obtained even more precise. With a weight of about 28,5 grams, the projectile is produced using a ternary alloy previously intended for the 20 GA gauge, and inserted in a particular launch container wad with a predisposed fracture. In this way, an under-calibrated bullet was obtained, which is an excellent choice that makes it self-reducing and consequently safe to fire even in choked barrels.
The Gualbo was expressly designed for the preparation of shooting cartridges. By exploiting the reduction in the weight of the projectile and the special launch wad, the latter in refined plastic material, a mild recoil and a rapid aiming are ensured which are essential for target acquisition, especially in those situations where there is a need to fire in succession at moving targets.
Outside the launch wad there are radial rings, which allow a very balanced path in the barrel, a decisive characteristic for accuracy on the target and for adaptation to bottlenecks and any rifling. In this way the annoying splices of the rods are also eliminated.
The Gualbo bullet, available only in 12 gauge, features a very simple loading using 12/70 plastic cases with strong primers, such as Fiocchi 616, cheddite CX2000 or Nobel Sport U688. With a hunting powder suitable for loading 32 gram shot cartridges such as Baschieri & Pellagri MBx32 and Fx32, Nobel Sport S4n and Sipe n, having the foresight to increase the doses of 0,10 - 0,15 grams approximately, closing with a round rim and folding the case resting on the end of the container, finally pressing enough so that the tip of the bullet remains below the level of the rim, an excellent result is obtained.
To this end, it is expressly recommended to use a special steel coil with a flat internal part, such as the Cortini G1 in order not to damage the tip of the ball.
The Gualbo ball by Gualandi is in alloy with a launch tail in refined material, with a single height of 51 mm and 28.5 grams of weight. This super light from the Bolognese company is perfect for precision and dynamic shooting for 12 gauge shotguns.
