The numbers of the latest edition
The manifestation of Felice Field it ends with the victory in the Master for the English pointing breeds of the setter Oriolensis Quod and for the continental pointing breeds of the Breton epagneul Patty. Oriolensis Quaison wins the Setter Excellence Test, Akeriensis Clint the pointer Excellence Test and Breton Spaniel Ruben from Casa Valcanover takes the first step of the podium in the Continental Pointing Breeds Excellence Test. The numbers of this edition, the participation and appreciation of the many enthusiasts and professionals led me to some reflections on this important event. First of all, the climate of great serenity gave emotions and enthusiasm that we had not seen in our zootechnical checks for some time. Spirit of aggregation, support and constructive discussion were tangible.
A moment of annual synthesis
The cultural and technical exchange was of a high level and confirmed this event as a meeting point and moment of annual synthesis for hunting dog lovers and beyond. In this week of tests, 538 dogs were evaluated and the judgments confirmed that the zootechnical selection of the Italian breeding remains of reference. The very large participation in the breed meetings, 939 dogs registered, a figure which continues to grow year after year, attests to the importance of this event also for the morphological evaluation of hunting and herding breeds. The ENCI Village hosted commercial stands and spaces reserved for specialized associations in the sector, where it was possible to acquire useful information and meet with other enthusiasts. New this year were the practical demonstrations with sled dogs which allowed the public to learn about and try out the towing activity with Nordic breeds.
Synergy and collaboration
The excellent success of the Campo Felice event is the result of the synergy and collaboration with institutions, sector companies, our special societies and the reference dog groups. For this I thank the regional administration and the municipalities, the sponsors Bitrabi, Crispi, Monge and Rayton. Thanks to the numerous collaborators and judges who contributed with their work to the selection of the many dogs present. With pride, on behalf of the Board of Directors, I can state that Campo Felice remains a unique annual event in the world for professionals and many enthusiasts. ENCI will continue to defend this type of dog breeding, which protects dog breeds and enhances the use of their extraordinary aptitudes in civil society, attentive to the inseparable human/dog relationship and which it places at the center of its work, also through the most modern technologies , the value of animal welfare. All this was seen at Campo Felice 2024. See you next year, therefore (Dino Muto, ENCI president).
