Un resident hunter in Frosinone went to the Ciociara Police Headquarters to report the disappearance of his rifle from the car. The only thing he got, though, is a complaint on the loose for omitted weapon custody. The man, a 77-year-old, left home in the morning to attend one hunting trip.
Before arriving at the chosen place, however, he decided to stop at a bar for breakfast and just in those moments when the car was parked, an unknown thief stole the shotgun which was in the back seat. The elderly man became aware of the theft only some time later and in another locality, shortly before starting the hunting activity. The complaint served to ascertain that, as the owner, it had to be the man himself to guard the weapon in the best possible way.
Among other things, the car had been left open and for the criminal the "game" was very simple. There was no diligence to ensure public safety and the provision for the 77-year-old was inevitable. As is clear and evident, any unauthorized person can come into possession of an unattended weapon, with the consequent uncontrolled spread of the same.
