Federcaccia Vicenza and the FIdC Migratory Birdlife Office organize a conference on the monitoring of migratory birds in the pre-Alpine passes and on the results at the Hit Show, room 13, hall 14.30 (Via dell'Oreficeria 8.0.6, Vicenza) on Saturday 8 February at 16 pm of the research undertaken by Federcaccia through the use of radio collars in the migration of woodcocks, teals and turdids.
After the greeting of the national President Gian Luca Dall'Olio, the national vice president of the FIdC Lorenzo Carnacina, head of the Wildlife Hunting Environmental Management Office, will open the proceedings. The first speech will be the report by Alberto Bosa, faunist expert and collaborator of Veneto Agricoltura, who will illustrate the results of the monitoring of migratory birds as part of the Pre-Alpine Passes project in which the FIdC of Vicenza and the Migratory Birds Office took part.
Following the interventions of the technicians of the avifauna Office, who in their reports will provide the latest updates on the studies undertaken: Michele Sorrenti, technical-scientific manager of the Office, on the importance of the published research and their use; Alfonso Lenzoni, President of Acma, on the satellite telemetry project applied to anatidae - Anasat project; Alessandro Tedeschi, President of the Amici di Scolopax Association, on science and technology at the service of research.
Carlo Romanelli will offer an overview of the history of migrants from tradition to modernity and finally Daniel Tramontana, wildlife technician of the Avifauna Office, will illustrate the research using VHF radio telemetry applied to turdids.
To conclude the work will be the intervention of the MEP and vice president of the Intergroup Biodiversity, Rurality and Hunting of the European Parliament, Hon. Renata Briano on the importance of research in the correct application of the European Directive. Moderator of the debate was Prof. Mario Spagnesi. The conference is open to the public and all interested parties are invited to participate.
