Hounds - On Friday 11 November, in the Collacchioni area of Pieve Santo Stefano, in the province of Arezzo, the semifinals of the Coppa Italia on hare, in which all qualified couples were able to participate in the months of February and March in their respective regions of origin, during zootechnical checks intended for these preliminary rounds. The head of the organization was Domenico Corradeschi, who ensured that everything took place in compliance with the regulations. On Friday, the meeting was scheduled for 6 at the Eurohotel at the service area E / 45 Pierriggio di Pieve Santo Stefano.
The weather conditions did not give hope for anything good. Torrential rain accompanied the whole morning of tests. In the first battery, judged by Alberto Mora, the pair of Italian short-haired hounds di Del Conte achieved a first place with the qualification of very good. Battery number two judged by Gastone Zani reported three qualifications: an excellent one awarded to Brugnoli, an excellent one to the pair of Gnagni and a very good one to the Hounds of Cornia.
For the third battery, assigned to Giovanni Montanari, the pair of Italian bloodhounds by Anacleto Pelliccia achieved a very good first qualification. Finally, judge Elena Marcaletti awarded an excellent first to the hounds short-haired from Torella. All the first battery qualifiers, namely the Brugnoli, Torella, Del Conte and Pelliccia hounds entered the final on Saturday, which proved to be even worse from a meteorological point of view.
Temperatures close to zero accompanied by water interspersed with sleet and strong wind made the work of the four finalist couples difficult. The only couple that managed to find was that of the Italian bloodhounds of Brugnoli, who therefore won the Italian Cup Fidc. The podium, as per regulation, was completed with the qualifications of the semifinals. In second place the couple from Torella and third the hounds of Del Conte.
I Enci judges were flanked by federal judge Ivo Pulcinelli, who assessed the correctness in the use of the rifle by the two people for each finalist couple who were allowed to shoot, after a certain period of followed carried out by the dogs, when the judges deemed it appropriate. The Fidc expressed its thanks to all the competitors, judges and companions who collaborated for the success of the event. The appointment is for 2017.
