Someone has already made their holidays, someone has yet to leave, others, alas, will not. In any case, all those who are "suffering from hunting sickness" are now ready in trepidation waiting for the new opening. Every year the same rite is repeated, and every year we are ready with our hearts beating loudly like a drum, waiting for the season to officially begin. Of course we know it well, more and more hunters allow themselves a hunting holiday, perhaps in the summer to wood pigeons in the United Kingdom or to quail and turtle doves in many destinations ranging from Europe to North Africa. Others are selection hunters and summer is one of the top moments for this hunt. So it can be said in general that a good number of enthusiasts have already had the opportunity to take up their rifle. But the general openness of the hunt is another thing, however. It is the moment that all hunters, dogs, weapons and even boots await with trepidation.
In the days before the gun shops begin to fill up with enthusiasts, long discussions and endless theories, about places, about the presence of animals, about the cartridges to be used. The lies on each of these topics obviously go to waste, and let alone, if one really knows a place where he has seen animals, does he go around telling it around? Then there is the renewal of the insurance, there are the taxes to be paid and the hunting card to be collected. While at the bar, where the hunters meet, on summer evenings the beer flows freely, discussing pre-opening, hunting calendars and, as always, the appeals of the usual anti-hunts. In short, every year everything more or less the same as the previous one. Nobody and I mean nobody, however, would dare to miss one of these things, they are also part of the game, of the love we have for this activity as old as man himself.
So for the upcoming next season, my hunters friends, I beg you of one thing only: pay more and more attention to matters relating to hunting safety. As you know it is one of the most important and fundamental issues. Sometimes due to excessive familiarity with the tools that are used or due to a habit dictated by years of practice and habits, some rules, good behaviors or simply attentions are overlooked. Just then danger lurks. The risk, dealing with potentially dangerous tools, is always present. For the rest I wish you all a sincere good luck and that it can really be a great and rich hunting season.
