Opening of the Hunt: the Hunting Season officially begins tomorrow and the State Forestry Corps calls hunters to respect the safety rules.
Tomorrow, Sunday 16 September, the Hunting Season will officially open and the State Forestry Corps invites all hunters to comply with the hunting rules in force and above all with the safety rules in order to avoid unpleasant accidents. .
The head of the Anti-poaching Investigation Unit of the State Forestry Corps, Claudio Marrucci, engaged in these days throughout the National Territory together with the territorial departments of the Forestry in carrying out an intense control activity for the prevention and repression of poaching, explained “The complex legislation that regulates the hunting sector must be known in depth by all hunters and also by those who are not hunters, but live and work in the countryside. It has the essential purpose of guaranteeing not only the compatibility between hunting and the natural environment, but above all that of protecting the safety of men ”.
Meanwhile, some useful tips for hunters arrive from the Forestry in order to avoid incurring penalties and avoiding accidents by practicing one's passion in safety for oneself and for others:
1) Do not hunt, for a period of not less than 10 years, on wooded surfaces affected by fires; information relating to these areas can be found at the municipal land registry;
2) Meticulously check the state of weapons, ammunition and personal equipment and always respect the provisions on the use and / or transport of hunting vehicles;
3) Check the regularity of the documents necessary for hunting (firearms license, hunting license, insurance, regional hunting card, etc);
4) Provide for the payment of government and regional taxes as well as all the formalities required by the territorial areas of hunting (ATC) and by the alpine areas (CA), provided for by the respective regional regulations;
5) Verify correctly which are the boundaries of any Parks, or other protected areas, within which hunting is absolutely forbidden, and if there are additional "buffer" protection zones on the perimeter;
6) Document yourself correctly on what are the limits of your territorial hunting areas and pay the utmost attention to the areas called Special Protection Areas (ZPS), within which hunting is regulated in a particular way, as specified in the various provincial hunting calendars, and to the wetlands, where it is compulsory to use ammunition with steel shot;
7) Know well the provisions of the provincial hunting calendar and possibly of the regulations relating to the collection of mushrooms or other products of the wooded areas;
8) Always be sure of the wild species for which hunting is allowed; game which cannot be recognized, or which cannot be clearly seen, must not be killed;
9) Strictly respect the safety distances provided for by law for buildings, any means of communication, agricultural vehicles at work as well as fixed or temporary hunting positions; even in the event of the slightest doubt, avoid any potentially dangerous explosion;
10) Always respect the surrounding environment and avoid abandoning any kind of waste, but above all the cartridge cases, now all made of plastic material;
11) Remember to keep, transport and manage dogs, which have always been the best "auxiliaries" of the hunting season, in a manner that respects the rules and their behavioral needs;
12) Finally, we recommend the utmost respect for agricultural crops in place.
