Incident of Hunting on the Po. It was around 13.00 on 11 November 2015, when, during a joke of duck hunting on the Po di Scirocco, the three-man boat overturned as they were reaching a shed among the reeds of the Delta.
The three hunters ended up in the water, but while the two from Tolle managed to reach the nearby shore and raise the alarm, their fellow hunting GP was overwhelmed by the waters and lost his life. The 53-year-old from Rimini would have died by drowning, perhaps caused by an illness or by the weight of theweapon and the equipment, which dragged him underwater.
Night watchman by profession but a great lover of hunting - he was part of the National Free Hunting section of Rimini - the hunter leaves behind a 7-year-old son. Many messages of condolence appeared on Facebook in these hours.
The agents of the Police Station of Porto Tolle and the Fire Brigade of Adria immediately arrived at the site of the tragedy and recovered the victim's body. The two surviving hunters were taken to the ER for investigation. It is still not clear what caused the accident, whether an accidental imbalance or a wave stronger than the others. The prosecutor has ordered the seizure of the boat.
