Recognized associations
There is excitement within the hunting associations after the issuing of the appointment decree number 17 of last September 21st of the representatives at the Territorial Hunting Areas of Reggio Calabria 1 and Reggio Calabria 2 signed by the mayor Carmelo Versace. The offending provision goes against the unitary management of thehunting associations because it unexpectedly excludes from the committees 4 out of 7 hunting associations recognized at a national level, and therefore entitled to be admitted (this has never happened since the ATC were born). The places of the excluded associations were kindly given by Metrocity to Federcaccia. Alongside the ANUUMigratoristi and Arci Caccia, signatories of the appeal to the TAR, Enalcaccia and EPS also took sides, criticizing the actions of the Metrocity, not agreeing with the substance and merits of the provision.
Management committees
These exclusions represent intolerable discrimination, perhaps the result of an incorrect interpretation and application of article 13 of Regional Law 9 of 1996 which instead provides for the equal presence of agricultural and hunting associations recognized within the management committees, effectively undermining the participatory pluralism desired by the legislator and provided for by article 2 of regional regulation number 11 of 2010 which regulates the ATC. ANUU and Arci Caccia don't know about it and have promptly challenged the appointment decree at the TAR against the Metropolitan City of Reggio Calabria, so that it can be annulled.
The interests of the hunting world
Now we can expect a storm in the Calabrian hunting associations which until now had walked together, defending and supporting the interests of the entire local hunting world, given that 4 out of 7 associations contest the unfair assignment of places in the ATC RC1 and RC2, precisely at a time when there is a need for all 7 associations for the protection of hunters (ANUUMigratoristi, Arci Caccia, Enalcaccia, Ente Produttori Selvaggina).
