Hunters and Environment: the 22nd edition of the “Clean Green Day” took place in Montello (BG).
This year the ANUU Migration Group of Montello (BG), in collaboration with the Department of the Environment of the Municipality and with the help of the Alpine troops, the Civil Protection Unit and many inhabitants, organized the 22nd edition of the "Day of Verde Pulito ”dedicating two days to cleaning the area: Sunday 30 March and Sunday 6 April 2014. On March 30, the volunteers mainly cleaned up the banks of the Burgundy canal that crosses the town, a part of the BG-BS railway axis and various suburban areas; Everything was found, in particular many materials in the area adjacent to the tracks: plastic, glass, clothing of all kinds, mattresses and even an (empty) gas cylinder.
On Sunday 6 April, on the other hand, in addition to finishing the cleaning and removal of the various materials, about twenty volunteers (mainly hunters and Civil Protection) dedicated themselves to cleaning the paths of the S. Giovanni hill overlooking the town of Montello, cleaning them from brambles, bushes, trees now dry and unsafe.
Now the paths are perfectly clean and accessible to the whole community for beautiful and relaxing walks in close contact with nature. At the end of each working day, to reward all the volunteers for their efforts and hard work, they were offered a tasty lunch at the local headquarters of the Alpini. A sincere thanks to everyone for these commendable initiatives!
