Hunters and Hunters: Rome, the woman and the two children missing in Subiaco were found, thanks also to the help of expert hunters who know the area.
The two children aged 4 and 5 were found who had disappeared together with their 36-year-old mother Alexia Canestrari in the Monte Livata area, a mountain station in the municipality of Subiaco, in the province of Rome. Already in the night the woman was found in a confused state who had claimed to have left her two children aged 4 and 5, Nicole and Manuel, in a cave. The alarm was given by her husband who, returning home, had not found any of his family members. The woman had already been found, after long searches, on New Year's Eve and had indicated approximately, due to the state of shock she was in, the place where she had sheltered her two children from the cold of the night. The three in fact, according to the reconstruction of the carabinieri, were lost on Tuesday 31 December 2013, during a walk in the woods between Campo dell'osso and Valle Pietra; due to the low temperatures the woman also had a problem of hypothermia. Any attempt to contact her by phone was useless, the user was always off, as were the attempts made by the Carabinieri to track her down in public places and private homes in the hours following her disappearance. The Alpine Rescue had asked the judicial authority to start the emergency procedures to allow the location of the last cells hooked up by the telephone.
In addition to the three helicopters of the Alpine Rescue and the "molecular" dogs able to follow the traces of missing persons even after many hours even with possible "contamination" of the ground, some members of the Enalcaccia di Vallepietra club were also participating in the rescue. they are activated immediately to offer their precious contribution, as hunters and above all as profound connoisseurs of the territory. Their contribution made the difference to be able to frame exactly the area in which to proceed with the research due to the fragmented news reported by the woman.
The few, confused, indications were enough for the two expert hunters, as well as enthusiasts of their mountain, to identify the exact area in which to carry out the research of the two children. The discovery took place at around 11.30 of the first, at the locality "Fonte delle Vaglie", located in the Municipality of Vallepietra (RM) and more precisely in the district "fosso dei moralli", the latter bordering the well-known ski resort of Subiaco.
The children were found in good condition and immediately entrusted to the ARES 118 health workers who, after first aid, transported them on board the “Pegaso” air ambulance to the pediatric emergency room of the Gemelli university hospital. According to the health workers, the little ones are in good general conditions, calm and in an excellent mood. “From the checks carried out it emerged that the girl reported an infringement of the right collarbone, while the boy has an infringement of the metacarpal of one hand. The siblings will be hospitalized and will spend the night in the pediatric wards of the Gemelli ”.
