Hunters: the 50th National Assembly of UNCZA, the National Union, took place in Asiago hunters Alps area.
In the land of Mario Rigoni Stern, to whose memory this edition was dedicated, hunting culture was the protagonist. Two degree theses on wildlife have been awarded. Scheibe delivered to Morgex for next year.
After the half century of life reached last year, the Uncza celebrated the half century of the most important appointment of its associative life: the National Assembly. To make the event memorable, the National Council, headed by President Sandro Flaim, chose the hometown of a protagonist of Italian culture, an ideal hunter and, finally, a historian: Mario Rigoni Stern. The heritage of wisdom he left continues to inspire the Uncza mission and all the moments of the two days on the Plateau were permeated by his presence.
The assembly was inaugurated at the council chamber of the Municipality, represented by the councilor for Sport Franco Sella who welcomed "from a city that lives in the mountains to hunters who live in the mountains". Flaim thanked him for the support given by the Administration, mentioning the other sponsors, the Veneto Region, the Province of Vicenza and the Regency of the Seven Municipalities, the collaborating associations, FIdC Veneto, Accademia Faunistica and Ca4, and the organizers, the Circolo Montagne Vicenza, Faunambiente and FIdC Vicenza. For the latter spoke the vice president Attilio Comacchio, who defined mountain hunters an example for all practitioners of the province. For the District, president Guido Carli described hunting as a passion to be passed on to children. At the end Flaim gave a commemorative plaque to the Rigoni Stern family, which Mrs. Anna received moved. The day ended with the film “Mario's seasons” directed by Margherita De Tomas.
The sound of the hunting horns of the Leit Get Group opened the proceedings of the conference “Alpine hunting culture”, scheduled for the following day. President Flaim highlighted the common thread that characterized the 50 years of the Assembly, starting "from the first in Brescia in '66, when the foundations of the Italian selection hunt were laid". Since then “hunters have evolved” promoting hunting culture and ethics to oppose the “rampant technology” that cancels any “empathic approach to nature”, a peculiarity of hunters. The journalist Marco Zeni took his cue from the recent encyclical "Laudato si '" which "would have been shared by Rigoni Stern" because he would have recognized the "environmental humanism" inspiring his works: man at the center of a universe moved by solidarity between all living beings. The contribution of the director of the Sibillini Mountains Park Franco Perco on hunting music has turned to the mind and ears. An ars, the first, which ennobles another, the venandi, and “emphasizes its rituality”.
The South Tyrolean researcher Cristoph Gasser traced the evolution of the figurative arts with a hunting theme. Daniele Zovi, commander of the Forestry Corps of Friuli-Venezia Giulia and Veneto, carried out a technical intervention on the change of the landscape that sees the forest conquer more and more spaces and favor the numerical expansion of ungulates with a negative impact on the ecosystem. There was no lack of a heartfelt memory of his friend Mario. Finally, the journalist Ettore Zanon spoke about the value of the rite in the hunting culture. The ancestral trait that binds the rites over the centuries is the sacredness of the blood, which is shed in hunting.
Afternoon dedicated to the Assembly with an extensive report by Sandro Flaim, who recalled the missing friends who animated the assemblies, assuming different meanings over time: consolidation of ancient ties; defense of technical and philosophical principles; promotion of mountain culture; proposal of correct management forms. He did not hide the existing problems, such as the senescence of hunters, the difficult relationship between them and society and between this and the fauna, environmental changes. The proposed solutions are different: environmental protection; planned use of the land; modification of 157/92; investments in culture, ethics, traditions and research, improvement of communication between and of hunters. At the end, awards were given to past president Bruno Vigna, to the senior member of the birdlife Commission Emilio Rudari and to the artist Claudio Menapace.
The award ceremony of the 9th edition of the degree awards that for 2015 saw the winners Chiara Cislaghi with "Management and conservation of deer in the alpine environment" and Michelle Balasso with "Changes in land use in the black grouse habitat" completed the work. In the evening, the Millefiori theater hosted the show “Il sergeant-La natura, homage to Rigoni Stern” (reciting voices Mara da Roit and Patrizio Zindaco, original music by Luca Dall'Asta). The mass of S. Uberto, with the S. Isidoro choir and the exposition of the saint's relics, and the delivery of the scheibe to Morgex (AO), next seat of the Assembly, in the presence of the national president Gian Luca Dall'Olio the event closed on Sunday.
