A week late that didn't dampen the enthusiasm: Portico of Romagna (province of Forlì-Cesena) is ready to host the first edition of the "Florentine Festival", an event originally scheduled for last May 1st. Bad weather did not allow the stands to be set up, but the party was not canceled and is scheduled for tomorrow, Sunday May 8 2016. Romagna is very active for this type of organization, as also confirmed by the Wild Boar Festival of Zattaglia (Ravenna).
The festival was organized by two associations, that of "Cucco Vecchio" and that of "Portico Hunters". The start was set for 12:15, in order to brighten the lunch. Participants will be able to enjoy a really interesting menu: one will be prepared grilled steak weighing about 700 grams (in honor of the name of the festival itself), with a side of salad, fried potatoes and beans all'uccelletto, in addition to dessert and coffee. The entire menu costs 20 euros.
The event will undoubtedly attract many visitors to a country that is defined as a real "gem" and which is part of the municipality of Portico e San Benedetto, in the Tuscan-Romagnolo Apennines. The locality is known above all for the typical handicraft products, such as for example the ceramics and the stuffing of the chairs, but also for the gastronomic products: on the table, in fact, cheeses, cured meats, the schiacciata, the paschal bracciatelli, the chestnuts, the mushrooms and the truffle.
