Hunting: Lazio, the first article of the new “Regional interventions for the conservation and management of wild fauna and the discipline of wildlife hunting has been approved by the Regional Council.

Article 1 was approved, which defines the purpose of the provision. The new legislation, according to this provision, governs the organic system of interventions which aims, in particular, at the protection, management and control of all species of wild fauna present, permanently or temporarily, in the regional territory and at the conservation of related habitats. Among the aims also the prevention and compensation of damage caused by wild animals. In the original draft it was provided for "compensation", but an amendment of the Five Star Movement, approved by the Chamber, replaced it with the term "compensation". On the other hand, the remaining 31 proposals for amendments presented by the M5S were rejected by a majority.
On the second day of work at the Regional Council on the proposed law “Regional interventions for the conservation and management of wildlife and for the planning and regulation of wildlife hunting. Regional Center for Wildlife ”the discussion dealt with about seventy proposed amendments to Article 2, in a session punctuated by checks on the quorum.
Four amendments approved on the initiative of Cristiana Avenali (For Lazio) including one that allows the involvement of the Higher Institute for Environmental Protection and Research (Ispra) when the Region will promote, favor or implement the system of interventions intended to implement objectives of the Wildlife Act. Numerous complaints about the implementation of Article 2 by the councilors of the M5s, in particular Silvia Blasi and Silvana Denicolò, authors of a large number of amendments mostly rejected by the Chamber. At the end of the session, the president of the regional council, Daniele Leodori, updated the proceedings for Tuesday 24 February, at 10,30.
